Universitatea Craiova set to dominate Romanian SuperLiga and enter Champions League preliminaries
Former Romanian international Ciprian Marica said Universitatea Craiova's new ownership structure—multiple shareholders, regular strategic meetings, and a broader decision‑making team—gives the club an advantage over rivals such as FCSB and could allow it to become the dominant force in the SuperLiga in the coming years.
UEFA has seeded Craiova as a top‑seed in the first qualifying round of the Champions League, meaning it will avoid higher‑coefficient opponents and may face clubs such as Levski Sofia, Kaunas Zalgiris, Sutjeska, Győr, Egnatia, Vitebsk or Atert Bissen. The draw is slated for early July, providing the Romanian side a favourable path in Europe.
