Universitatea Craiova defeats UTA Arad 4‑0 in Superliga season opener
Universitatea Craiova opened the 2026‑27 Romanian Superliga with a 4‑0 victory over UTA Arad at the Ion Oblemenco stadium. Samuel Teles scored the first goal in the 62nd minute, followed by Ștefan Baiaram (87'), Simon Elisor (89') and an own‑goal by Arad defender Dino Alomerović in injury time.
The win gave Craiova three points, the top spot in the league, and coach Filipe Coelho praised his side’s tactical discipline after a balanced first half. UTA coach Adrian Mihalcea admitted his team “finished on their knees” after conceding three late goals and vowed to recover in the next round.
