Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia denies Nur Fitri is staff member

Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) has issued a statement denying claims that Nur Fitri Azmeer Nordin is a staff member at the institution. The clarification follows viral social media posts suggesting he was serving as a lecturer.

UKM clarified that Nur Fitri is a former student who completed his PhD in 2021. The university emphasized its commitment to maintaining a professional and conducive learning environment for all students.

Nur Fitri previously gained notoriety in 2015 when he was sentenced in a London court for offenses involving the possession, production, and distribution of child pornography while studying at Imperial College London. At the time of his studies at UKM, the university had defended his enrollment, stating he had served his sentence and had shown no suspicious behavior.
