Universities celebrate homecoming traditions

The University of Kansas held its first homecoming parade in seven years on Friday, October 23, 2026. The event, themed “Home on the Hill,” featured floats from student and community organizations, the KU Spirit Squad, and the Marching Jayhawks. The celebration coincided with the university’s 114th homecoming weekend and preceded a football game against Baylor University.

In Canada, Queen’s University marked its centennial homecoming with over 115 events held from October 16-18. Approximately 4,700 registrants from 81 different graduating classes participated in the celebrations. The festivities included reunions for various graduating classes and special recognition for the Tricolour Guard, alumni who graduated 50 or more years ago.
