Universities host Halloween community events

Various university-hosted Halloween events are scheduled for late October. At Austin Peay State University, the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi will host the “Candy for the Mind” initiative during the Greater Halloween Options for Safe Trick-or-Treating (G.H.O.S.T.) event on October 25, 2026. Instead of traditional candy, volunteers will distribute free books across various reading levels to promote literacy.

Purdue University will hold its annual Halloween Bash at Alexander Field on October 28. The event features a costume scrimmage by the Purdue Baseball team, followed by on-field trick-or-treating for children. Attendees are also eligible for a voucher for a free ticket to a 2027 regular-season home game.
