Universities in Costa Rica and Dominican Republic advance academic professionalization

Public universities in Costa Rica held an Interuniversity Meeting of Quality Units to discuss successful strategies for program accreditation. Organized by the Quality Management Commission for Academic Excellence (GCA) of the National Council of Rectors (CONARE), the event focused on fostering a culture of continuous improvement and academic excellence through mutual learning and human engagement.

In the Dominican Republic, Universidad APEC (Unapec) launched a Bachelor’s degree in Contemporary Journalism. Developed in coordination with the Dominican College of Journalists and the National Union of Press Workers, the program aims to professionalize the sector by addressing the needs of journalists working without university degrees and preparing them for challenges in digital communication and artificial intelligence.
