Universities in Minas Gerais announce academic openings and exam schedules

The Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) has announced a public competition for one assistant professor position in the field of English Language. Located at the Faculty of Letters in Belo Horizonte, the role requires a doctorate in English Language, Applied Linguistics, Linguistics, Linguistic Studies, or Modern Foreign Languages. The position offers a monthly salary of R$ 13,753.96 for a 40-hour weekly schedule with exclusive dedication. The selection process will consist of a written exam, a didactic exam, and a title evaluation. Applications are open from October 7 to November 20, 2026.

Separately, the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA) has released the schedule for its 2026 Serial Assessment Process (PAS). Registration for PAS 1 and PAS 2 will take place between October 9 and December 15, 2026. The exams are scheduled for June 2027 and will be administered in Lavras, São Sebastião do Paraíso, and Varginha. The registration fee is R$ 150, with a payment deadline of December 16, 2026. Candidates may request fee exemptions until October 8, 2026.
