Universities in Portugal announce new academic partnerships and research grants

The University of Lisbon (ULisboa) has opened applications for the second edition of the Portugal-Brazil Doctoral Scholarships. This initiative is part of a partnership involving the PRISC scientific infrastructure—comprising ULisboa, the University of Porto, and the University of Coimbra—in collaboration with the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). Research areas include Anthropology and Archaeology, Geodiversity and Biodiversity, Science Communication, and the History of Science.

Separately, the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa (UAL) and the Universidade Politécnica de Tomar (UPTomar) have formed a consortium to conduct joint projects. This partnership aims to develop new degree programs, facilitate research and development, and enable the exchange of students and faculty. The consortium will be headquartered at the UPTomar campus, with leadership alternating between the two institutions every three years.
