Italian universities launch 2026-2027 academic year with diverse initiatives
Various Italian academic institutions are marking the start of the 2026-2027 academic year with diverse initiatives. At Link Campus University in Rome, the inauguration featured Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Lorenzo Fontana, who emphasized the importance of continuous learning and research for national development. Link's Director General, Roberto Russo, called for more young people to dedicate their energy to politics to foster democratic ideas.
Other regional developments include the University of Palermo joining Emergency’s anti-war campaign by displaying a banner referencing Article 11 of the Constitution. In Reggio Emilia, Unimore inaugurated MultiLab, a new infrastructure designed to innovate teaching practices and combat social illiteracy. Additionally, the University of Terni (Unitre) in Termoli is expanding its educational offerings while seeking a permanent campus location, and the University of Gualdo Tadino (UniGualdo) launched its year with a focus on sustainability and mythology.
In Ariccia, UNITRE celebrated its new academic year at Palazzo Chigi, emphasizing culture as a tool for intergenerational connection. Meanwhile, the Department of Architecture at the University of G. d’Annunzio in Chieti-Pescara opened its term with a lecture on design by Professor Andrea Vallicelli.
