Universities in Venezuela and Colombia begin 2026-II academic term
Several universities in Venezuela and Colombia have commenced their 2026-II academic periods with orientation and induction activities.
In Venezuela, the Universidad Nacional Experimental Simón Rodríguez (UNESR) Coro campus welcomed over 275 new and returning students. The institution reported a total enrollment of more than 1,500 students across programs in education, administration, and agroecology. Director Magger Suárez noted that the university is implementing a reengineering process for its 25 national campuses and aims to strengthen student welfare, sports, culture, and medical services in the Falcón region.
In Colombia, the Universidad Santo Tomás held an induction session for 30 new faculty members at its Central Campus. Led by Rector General Fray Álvaro José Arango Restrepo and Academic Vice-Rector Fray Adrián Mauricio García Peñaranda, the event focused on institutional identity, the ECOS 5 multicampus strategy, and human talent management to integrate new educators into the university community.
