Egypt's Ministry of Higher Education launches first phase of university admission coordination for 2026/2027

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced that the first phase of university and institute admission coordination for the 2026/2027 academic year will run from 5 August to 9 August. Students may register up to 75 preferences through the online coordination portal, with the ability to modify choices until the deadline.

For the modern system, the minimum score for the Science‑Science stream is 292 points (91.25% of candidates, 23,154 students), for Science‑Mathematics 275.5 points (86.09%, 16,046 students), and for the Literary stream 229 points (71.56%, 55,567 students), totaling 94,767 applicants. In the old system, the minimum for Science‑Science is 369 points (90%, 21 students) and for Science‑Mathematics 347 points (84.63%, 7 students), with 98 applicants overall.

The portal enforces rules on geographic distribution and ordering of preferences, alerting students to errors. After submitting, students receive a receipt with a reference number and can print their preference form. The ministry emphasized that all 75 preferences must be completed before registration can be finalized.
