University athletic programs announce new philanthropic investments

Bowling Green State University has announced significant renovations for Meserve Field, the home of the Falcon softball program. The upgrades, funded by a philanthropic commitment from University Trustee Paul J. Hooker, will include expanded dugouts, dedicated player restrooms within the dugouts, and improved drainage systems.

Separately, Western Kentucky University has launched a matching gift campaign for Hilltopper Basketball. Head Coach Hank Plona and Hilltopper Athletic Foundation members Jim and Eva Martens have each committed up to $100,000 to match donations through February 28, 2027. The initiative aims to increase support for the program through the Hilltopper Athletic Foundation.
