University Clinical Center Niš brings cardiology screenings to Supovac

The University Clinical Center Niš and the Institute ‘Niška Banja’ organized their ninth preventive cardiology screening event in the village of Supovac. The initiative aims to make healthcare more accessible to residents in rural areas by bringing medical professionals directly to them.

A multidisciplinary team, including specialists, young doctors, and physiotherapists, provided services such as blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar testing, ECGs, cardiac ultrasounds, and vascular examinations. Patients identified with serious health issues during the screenings were referred for further medical treatment.

Dr. Milan Lazarević, Director of the University Clinical Center Niš, emphasized that the new administration focuses on patient-centered care, noting that some residents struggle to schedule regular appointments in the city. Dr. Aleksandar Nikolić, Assistant Director, highlighted that preventive medicine reduces the long-term burden on the state and the healthcare system by detecting conditions like hypertension and diabetes early.
