University Clinical Center of Republika Srpska performs complex tumor removal

A surgical team at the University Clinical Center of Republika Srpska successfully performed a highly complex operation to remove a large tumor from a patient's axillary (armpit) region. The tumor, measuring approximately 10x8x5 cm, was deeply integrated with critical blood vessels and nerve structures in the armpit.

Led by orthopedic oncology specialist Dr. Slaviša Kunarac, the multi-hour procedure required extreme precision to preserve surrounding anatomical structures. Following the surgery, the patient, born in 1955, remained neurologically and vascularly stable and is currently undergoing postoperative monitoring and further treatment.
