University conferences to address innovation and ethics in Spain

Two upcoming academic forums in Spain will address contemporary challenges through the lens of innovation, entrepreneurship, and historical ethical frameworks.

The Conference of Spanish Rectors (CCS) will hold a meeting in Murcia on November 12 and 13. Organized with the Social Council of the University of Murcia, the event focuses on the role of universities in a transforming world, specifically regarding technological competition, economic security, and entrepreneurship. Discussions will cover the creation of technology-based companies, research funding, and the management of risks associated with sensitive technology transfers and international collaboration.

Additionally, the Salamanca Forum 2026 is scheduled for November 4–6 at the University of Salamanca. This forum aims to apply the legacy of the School of Salamanca to modern governance and ethics. It will draw on the historical teachings of figures such as Francisco de Vitoria and Juan de Mariana to debate how economic and technological progress can serve humanity, focusing on international law, economic responsibility, and social justice.
