University dormitory conditions influence student school selection

A growing trend in university admissions shows that dormitory living conditions are becoming a decisive factor for students and parents when choosing institutions.

A parent from Henan recently expressed distress after discovering the poor state of a public university's dormitories. Despite the school's strong academic reputation and favorable entrance scores, the facilities—including rusty iron bunk beds, cramped rooms, and degraded flooring—were found to be significantly inferior to those of private institutions.

In contrast, many private universities with lower entrance requirements offer modern accommodations featuring private bathrooms, washing machines, and amenities similar to apartments. This disparity has sparked debate regarding why students who achieve high academic scores often must accept substandard living conditions compared to their peers at private schools.
