University engagement and extracurricular activities key to student success

As the new academic year begins in September, experts emphasize that student success depends on more than just academic coursework. Justė Rožėnė, director of the Admissions and Information Center at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, suggests that long-term satisfaction and professional growth are tied to time management, goal setting, and active involvement in the university community.

Engaging in extracurricular activities—such as student organizations, volunteering, scientific research, sports, and international exchanges—is linked to higher academic success and better preparation for the labor market. These activities help develop essential soft skills like teamwork, communication, and responsibility.

In line with these engagement goals, Kaunas University of Technology is hosting its annual INSPIRed month throughout September. The university has organized various cultural events, including photo marathons, theater performances, dance conventions, and concerts, alongside auditions for its six unique art collectives to encourage students to explore talents outside the classroom.
