University Hospital in Krakow to receive 2.5 million PLN for new medical equipment

The University Hospital in Krakow is set to acquire 15 pieces of specialized medical equipment through a state budget grant of approximately 2.5 million PLN. The funding, provided via the Population Protection and Civil Defense Program for 2025–2026, was finalized in an agreement with the Małopolska Voivode.

The new equipment will be distributed across several departments, including the Operating Block, the Emergency Department (SOR), and clinical units such as Orthopedics, Traumatology, General Surgery, Oncology, Metabolic, and Emergency Medicine.

Planned purchases include mobile ultrasound machines, transport ventilators, blood transfusion devices, orthopedic tools, and blood warmers. These upgrades aim to enhance diagnostic and surgical capabilities, particularly improving the hospital's ability to respond to mass casualty events and disasters. The implementation of this project is scheduled to be completed by December 31, 2026.
