University Hospital Olomouc reports record revenue and profit

University Hospital Olomouc (FN Olomouc) reported record-breaking financial results in its latest annual report. The hospital's revenues reached a historic high of 12.851 billion CZK, while profits increased by 2 percent to 882.2 million CZK.

Major revenue drivers included health insurance payments for patient care, which rose to 11.626 billion CZK. On the expenditure side, personnel costs were the largest component, totaling 5.189 billion CZK. The hospital also saw increased spending on medications and medical supplies.

Driven by these profits, the hospital is undertaking significant infrastructure developments. Annual investments rose to over 1.6 billion CZK, up from approximately 900 million CZK the previous year. A primary project is the construction of Central Pavilion B, estimated to cost 3.5 billion CZK. Scheduled for completion in 2028, this new facility will house departments such as neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, and traumatology, and will include ten operating rooms.
