University Hospital Würzburg seeks volunteers for CRPS pain study
The University Hospital Würzburg is seeking healthy adult volunteers to participate as a control group for the ‘ResolveCRPS 2.0’ study. Led by Prof. Dr. Heike Rittner at the Center for Interdisciplinary Pain Medicine, the research investigates Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), a chronic pain condition often triggered by injuries or surgeries to the limbs.
Participants must be between 18 and 85 years old and have no prior history of CRPS. The study involves various medical assessments, including physical and neurological examinations, blood tests, strength tests, nerve function analysis, skin blood flow monitoring, heart rate variability tests, and a head MRI.
Certain conditions exclude individuals from participation, such as pregnancy, severe kidney or liver disease, severe asthma, autoimmune diseases treated with immunosuppressants, current cortisone use, neuropathy, or other chronic pain conditions. Participants may receive compensation of up to 70 euros for their time and effort.
