Mexican universities expand academic and social partnerships
Several Mexican academic institutions are strengthening ties to enhance professional development and social mobility. In Tijuana, Universidad Iberoamericana Tijuana and Fundación BBVA are continuing their four-year collaboration through the ‘Chavos que Inspiran’ scholarship program. The initiative supports high-achieving students with limited economic resources, currently serving 50,000 active scholars and 4,500 students with disabilities.
In Michoacán, the Red Juntos por Michoacán and California State University, Sacramento, have signed a letter of intent to foster academic, cultural, and institutional alliances. This partnership, involving the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo, aims to support research and create opportunities for Michoacán migrants.
Additionally, the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (UABC) is expanding its collaboration with the Bank of Mexico and the Baja California Ministry of Education to provide financial literacy training for sixth-grade primary students. UABC has also entered a 10-year agreement with the Judicial Power of Baja California to establish judicial training offices at the Centro Universitario de Posgrado e Investigación en Salud (CUPIS).
