University Medical Center Freiburg to host breast reconstruction information sessions

The University Medical Center Freiburg is hosting two information sessions in October to discuss modern surgical options for breast reconstruction following breast cancer. These events aim to provide patients and interested individuals with a clear understanding of various treatment methods, including their respective advantages and disadvantages.

One session will be held in person on Monday, October 19, at the Killianstraße lecture hall in Freiburg, while an online lecture is scheduled for Thursday, October 22. Experts from the Department of Gynecology and the Department of Plastic and Hand Surgery will present information on the full spectrum of reconstruction, utilizing both implants and autologous tissue.

Prof. Dr. Steffen Eisenhardt noted that the clinic is among the first to implement robotic systems in breast surgery to facilitate particularly precise and minimally invasive procedures.
