The statement, signed by Acting Director of Information and University Relations Dr. Habib Yakoob, described the claims as false, misleading and without factual basis. It emphasized that the university is an autonomous institution that follows its statutory laws and established recruitment procedures for all managerial positions. The university urged the public to disregard the spurious allegations and reiterated its commitment to its mandate while acknowledging the minister’s contributions to Nigeria’s higher‑education sector.
