University of Adelaide launches graduate programs in critical care nursing and maritime engineering

The University of Adelaide announced two new graduate-level programmes designed for specialised professional development. The Graduate Diploma in Nursing focuses on critical care, equipping registered nurses with advanced skills in managing life‑threatening conditions in intensive, coronary and emergency settings. Coursework covers advanced pathophysiology, pharmacology, haemodynamic monitoring, trauma care and end‑of‑life decision‑making, with an emphasis on leadership and clinical governance.

The Graduate Certificate in Engineering offers a maritime specialisation, preparing graduates for roles in shipbuilding, high‑speed ferry design, marine consultancy and defence. Students will study systems engineering, data analytics, acoustics and sustainable design to address complex challenges in South Australia’s growing maritime sector.
