University of Aden’s Science Center Reviews Financial Mediation Platform for IP Protection

The Center of Science and Technology at the University of Aden convened a scientific session to evaluate a project submitted by researcher Wadih Mohamed Ahmed Noman, titled “Ajodlik”. The proposal describes an integrated technological platform that mediates financing between clients, banks, and merchants, using embedded APIs, local bank cards, or e‑wallets. It is designed to help low‑ and middle‑income households obtain essential food items and medicines without additional financial burdens, while restricting purchases of non‑essential goods.

The evaluation committee, comprising Dr. Hakim Salah Al‑Aan, Dr. Nasser Hamid Al‑Saqaf, and Prof. Rakhshana Mohamed Ismail, was joined by Abdullah Noman Qaid, Director General of the General Administration for Intellectual Property Registration and Patents at the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The discussion focused on technical, financial, and regulatory aspects of the platform and its potential to meet local market needs while maintaining credit and security safeguards. The committee concluded that the project merits the award of intellectual‑property protection rights and will forward its recommendation to the Ministry for final certification, underscoring the Center’s role in fostering innovation and safeguarding creators’ rights.
