University of Algarve announces new venue for 2026 freshman reception

The Academic Association of the University of Algarve (AAUAlg) has announced the 2026 edition of the 'Receção ao Caloiro do Algarve', scheduled to take place from September 17 to 26. This year's event features a renewed concept and a new venue at the Faro Municipal Pools Complex, established through a partnership between the AAUAlg and the Faro Municipal Council.

The festivities will begin on September 17 with the 'Arraial Académico' at the Penha Campus. From September 18 to 22, the first area of the new venue will open to all University of Algarve students, offering music and social spaces. Starting September 23, the second area will also open, allowing both sections of the complex to operate simultaneously until September 26. The program aims to foster integration between new students and those already enrolled in the university, promoting a sense of community for the 2026/2027 academic year.
