University of Bisha concludes Digitalthon 2026 hackathon

The University of Bisha has concluded its ‘Digitalthon 2026’ hackathon, organized by the university’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center. The event featured 301 participating teams aiming to develop innovative digital solutions for challenges within the university environment.

Participants competed across three main tracks: Digital Innovation and University Service Development, Smart Campus and Sustainability, and Cybersecurity and Risk Management. The competition included 108 entries from university members and 193 from external schools, universities, and organizations.

Key winners included the ‘Mafqood’ project, which took first place in the Digital Innovation track with a 25,000 SAR prize. In the Smart Campus and Sustainability track, the ‘GeoSynAI’ team won second place for ‘ClimateMap UB’ (15,000 SAR), and the ‘Aseer Sustainable’ team took third place for ‘Nabdh’ (10,000 SAR).

Dr. Naif bin Ayedh Al-Ghamdi, Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, noted that the event demonstrated the ambition of Saudi youth to transform technical challenges into sustainable projects. The closing ceremony also included the signing of several cooperation and partnership agreements to support the local innovation ecosystem.
