University of Brasília announces new undergraduate admission rules for 2027

The University of Brasília (UnB) has announced a reorganization of its undergraduate admission processes effective from 2027. According to the new policy approved by the Council of Teaching, Research, and Extension (Cepe), the total number of annual vacancies will remain unchanged, but the distribution across semesters and selection methods will be restructured.

Under the new rules, the first semester will offer vacancies through the Unified Selection System (Sisu) and the Serial Evaluation Program (PAS). Notably, Sisu will expand to cover all UnB courses, whereas previously it was only available for specific programs. The second semester will distribute vacancies between the traditional entrance exam (vestibular) and the Enem Access method, split equally at 50% each.

Tiago Coelho, the Dean of Undergraduate Teaching, stated that the goal is to optimize vacancy utilization and expand access. For the PAS, the transition will be gradual; while 2027 and 2028 will maintain two-semester entry to preserve current cycles, from 2029 onwards, PAS students will enter only in the first semester.

Separately, the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) has opened applications for 1,427 vacancies for 2027 across various selection processes, including academic mobility (Moba) and affirmative mobility for indigenous and quilombola students (Mobaf). Additionally, UnB is offering 300 distance learning vacancies in Tourism and Assistive Communication via the Open University of Brazil (UAB) system using Enem scores.
