University of Buenos Aires warns of worsening dental health due to postponed treatments

Pablo Rodríguez, dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Buenos Aires, has warned that economic difficulties are causing many people to postpone dental treatments. This delay allows oral pathologies to evolve and worsen over time.

During a free health service event at Plaza de Mayo, the university deployed mobile dental units to provide cleanings, cavity treatments, root canals, extractions, and prosthetics. The initiative comes as the university continues to advocate for increased funding and better salaries.

The faculty reports an increasing number of patients seeking university services because they cannot afford private treatments or because insurance providers are reducing coverage due to rising costs of materials and supplies.
