University of Calabria launches agroindustry innovation master's program

The University of Calabria, through its Department of Economics, Statistics and Finance, has announced a second-level master's program in “Innovation and Sustainability in the Agro-industrial Sector.” The initiative is co-financed by the Calabria Region and ARSAC to develop professionals capable of driving innovation, sustainability, and competitiveness within the local agro-industrial sector.

Regional Agriculture Councilor Gianluca Gallo noted the significant growth of the Calabrian agri-food system. Data presented by Francesco Aiello indicates that between 2016 and 2024, Calabrian agro-industrial companies analyzed showed an aggregate growth of 54%, compared to 38% in Southern Italy and approximately 16% in the central and northern regions.

The program offers 1,500 hours of training for 60 CFU, targeting young graduates and professionals. It focuses on specialized skills in export, market analysis, and the management of quality and sustainability in production processes. Applications are open until November 15.
