University of Camagüey advances agricultural AI research
Specialists from the University of Camagüey are participating in training activities related to the Sagrit International Project, an initiative focused on the use and research of digital tools in the agricultural sector.
Researchers Yailé Caballero Mota and Yanela Rodríguez Álvarez are working to develop artificial intelligence models applicable to Cuban agricultural development. This work involves field visits to initiatives in Spain and Italy to combine theoretical training with practical experience.
The program also coordinates with AI4DIET, a research project funded by the France 2030 plan and coordinated by the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment (INRAE). This collaboration aims to leverage AI to support animal feeding strategies and the agroecological transition of livestock farms. One specific output includes a web application called the Ruminant Food Nutritional Management System, designed to support animal nutrition research.
