University of Castilla-La Mancha hosts biomedical research summit
The University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) has launched a two-day summer course titled ‘When science saves lives: Advances and challenges of cutting-edge research in Spain’ at its Toledo Campus. Held as part of the institution's 40th-anniversary celebrations, the event brings together researchers, healthcare professionals, and scientific institution representatives to discuss the future of biomedicine.
Key topics include precision medicine, neuroscience, biotechnology, and aging. The inaugural lecture was delivered by Raquel Yotti Álvarez, commissioner of the PERTE for Vanguard Health, regarding the future of advanced health in Spain. The program features roundtables on new therapies and the relationship between the brain and the mind, featuring experts from the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), the Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology, and the National Hospital of Paraplegics.
