University of Castilla-La Mancha hosts heritage and physics student events
The University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) has hosted two distinct academic and cultural events in the regions of Cuenca and Toledo.
In Cuenca, a summer course titled ‘Valorización del patrimonio cultural y gastronómico en entornos rurales: innovación, transferencia y desarrollo territorial’ focused on the province's cultural and culinary heritage. Led by professors Miguel Ángel Valero and Nuria Huete, the program included lectures and visits to the Roman villa of Noheda, the archaeological park of Segóbriga in Saelices, and Tarancón. Topics covered included traditional ceramics, Roman gastronomy, and economic measures for protecting historical heritage.
In Toledo, the UCLM campus hosted the 16th Ordinary Plenary of NUSGREM, an association representing physics students from universities across Spain. The meeting brought together twenty student representatives to discuss the quality of physics education, university representation, and common challenges within the discipline. The event included academic lectures, such as a session on loop quantum cosmology by Professor Beatriz Elizaga de Navascués, and discussions regarding potential collaborations with the National Association of Mathematics Students (ANEM).
