University of Cádiz launches guides to reduce water footprint

The University of Cádiz (UCA), as part of the ceiA3 international excellence network, has launched a series of interactive environmental guides under the campaign ‘Toda Huella Cuenta’ (Every Footprint Counts). The initiative aims to make the ‘invisible’ water footprint of food production visible to citizens and the productive sector.

The guides provide a roadmap for adopting the ‘Gesto Azul’ (Blue Gesture), encouraging small changes in food consumption to save water and protect the future of the Andalusian countryside. This launch coincides with World Water Week, highlighting the urgent need for responsible water use and waste prevention in the agro-food sector due to increasing scarcity.
