University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague secures major research funding

The University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague (VŠCHT) is advancing its research capabilities through significant funding and international mobility initiatives. Under the Chemical Fellows VI project, co-financed by the European Union, the university will host six international researchers for 24-month projects and send three staff members abroad for research stays. This initiative specifically supports high-scoring research projects from the Horizon Europe program that previously lacked sufficient funding.

Additionally, seven research groups from VŠCHT Prague have successfully secured funding through the Excellence Research call of the Jan Amos Komenský Operational Programme (OP JAK). Led by Professor Karel Bouzek, the university's involvement in these interdisciplinary projects includes a total financial support of 588,376,854 CZK. The research areas span energy conversion and storage, biological and bio-inspired mechanical engineering, regenerative medicine, microbial interactions, advanced multi-scale materials, sustainable development technologies, pharmaceutical translational research, and sensors for the information society.
