Universidad de Chile launches 54th Student Olympic Games

The 54th edition of the Universidad de Chile Student Olympic Games (JOE 2026) has commenced, featuring swimming, football, and handball competitions.

In the opening swimming events held at the Juan Gómez Millas Sports Field pool, the Campus Juan Gómez Millas took first place in the women’s category with 103 points, followed by the Faculty of Physical Sciences and Mathematics (FCFM) and the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism. In the men’s category, FCFM secured first place with 129 points, while the Faculty of Medicine took second and Campus Juan Gómez Millas finished third.

Team sports have also begun, with FCFM securing a 6-1 victory over Agrorrecursos in football, and the Faculty of Medicine defeating FAU 4-0.
