University of Coimbra celebrates Festa das Latas traditions

The University of Coimbra is celebrating the Festa das Latas with several traditional academic events. The Sarau Académico, organized by the Associação Académica de Coimbra (AAC), is being held on a stage installed in Rua da Sofia, marking the first time the performance has taken place in this location following a municipal decision to close the street to general traffic.

Additionally, the traditional Serenata is taking place at Largo da Sé Nova. José Machado, president of the AAC General Directorate, noted that the event serves as a significant milestone for both new students experiencing Coimbra's academic traditions and final-year students. Despite potential weather concerns such as rain or wind, organizers expressed confidence in a large student turnout.
