Universidad de Colima and Queen Mary University design climate leadership microcredential

The Universidad de Colima (UdeC) and Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) are developing a bilingual, binational microcredential focused on climate leadership. This initiative aims to equip decision-makers in various organizations with the necessary competencies to navigate the climate transition.

Funded by the British Council through the HE Connects program, the project is part of the ‘Green Global’ initiative. The curriculum covers five key areas: climate governance and carbon economics, carbon markets and climate finance, digital emission measurement and verification, sustainability leadership, and climate regulation and corporate responsibility.

In Mexico, the importance of microcredentials is growing following their inclusion in the National Higher Education Program 2026–2030 by the Secretaría de Educación Pública (SEP).
