University of Colima concludes interdisciplinary science course for adolescents
The University of Colima recently concluded its 2026 summer course, ‘History and Cosmos in Dialogue: From Ancestors to the Stars,’ an interdisciplinary program designed for adolescents aged 11 and older.
The course integrated biology, astrophysics, and history to encourage scientific vocations in young people. Using the FamilySearch platform, participants conducted genealogical research to connect their family histories with cosmic events occurring simultaneously on Earth.
Dr. Xóchitl Trujillo-Trujillo, the general research coordinator, emphasized the importance of fostering scientific interest at an early age. Professor María de Jesús Ramírez Magallón described the participants as potential future scientists due to their aptitude in mathematics and science.
