University of Colima hosts IV Feminist Philosophy Colloquium

The IV Feminist Philosophy Colloquium is being held at the University of Colima's Historical Archive. Organized by the Faculty of Pedagogy and the University Center for Equality and Gender Studies (CUpIEG), the event brings together academics to discuss the contributions of feminist philosophy to education and the development of more equitable relationships.

Key themes of the colloquium include the care of life amidst social and environmental crises, the prevention of violence, and expressions of antifeminism in digital spaces. During the inaugural lecture, Rosa Guadalupe Mendoza Zuany from the Veracruz University Institute of Educational Research proposed the construction of care pedagogies. Using the metaphor of a ‘quilt’ to represent the integration of diverse experiences and knowledge, she argued that caring for life requires a collective reconstruction of how humans know, relate to, and inhabit the world.
