Universidad de Colima inaugurates Jardín del Saber and Sebastián sculpture

The University of Colima has inaugurated the ‘Jardín del Saber’ (Garden of Knowledge) at its central campus. The ceremony included the unveiling of the ‘Columna del Conocimiento’ (Column of Knowledge), a sculpture created by the renowned Mexican artist Sebastián, also known as Enrique Carbajal González.

University Rector Christian Torres Ortiz Zermeño led the event, which coincided with the institution's 86th anniversary. Sebastián, who holds an honorary doctorate from the university, stated that the work was designed to commemorate the university's traditions in culture, teaching, and scientific research. The new space is intended to serve as a meeting and rest area for both the university community and the general public.
