University of Colima researcher joins ICLEI award committee
Eduardo Santillán Gutiérrez, a full-time professor-researcher from the Faculty of Architecture and Design at the University of Colima, has been invited by ICLEI Local Governments for Sustainability to join the Evaluation and Monitoring Committee for the tenth edition of the ICLEI Sustainable Local Government Award 2026 in Mexico.
Over the coming months, Santillán Gutiérrez will work alongside other specialists to evaluate municipal government projects based on their environmental, economic, and social impacts. The award recognizes local government programs and actions focused on environmental protection and sustainable development, including areas such as climate change, biodiversity, renewable energy, water management, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Santillán Gutiérrez will specifically support the evaluation of five categories: ambitious local government regarding climate change, biodiversity-based solutions, resilience, water management, and the use of renewable energy and energy efficiency.
