University of Colima uses art to reduce staff stress
The University of Colima held a workshop titled ‘Infusiones para la calma’ (Infusions for Calm) to support the emotional health of staff at the University Psychological Care Clinic (CUAP). The initiative utilized artistic expression, specifically coffee painting and mandala creation, as tools to manage daily stress and prevent compassion fatigue among psychological care providers.
Led by visual artist Sandra L. Uribe Alvarado and psychologist Patricia L. Murillo Chacón, the workshop allowed participants to explore emotional regulation and identify personal resources for maintaining tranquility. The program is part of a broader care policy promoted by the General Directorate for Integral Development (DGDI) under the framework of a Culture of Peace.
