University of Crete clarifies road safety works to ITE campus in Heraklion

The construction of a new pedestrian walkway from the circular junction of the Heraklion‑Vouton provincial road to the ITE entrance must undergo a systematic technical review because it is linked to the parallel building of student housing, a project overseen by a private partnership entity. The university said it will examine any request from the municipal authority within its institutional remit and available resources, underscoring its commitment to the safety of students, staff and the long‑term compatibility and sustainability of the interventions.
