University of Cyprus launches innovative Global Health BSc program

The University of Cyprus announced the certification and start of a new English‑language, interdisciplinary three‑year undergraduate degree, Science, Management and Politics in Global Health (BSc). The programme was developed within the NEOLAiA alliance of European universities and will be jointly awarded by the University of Cyprus, the University of Jaén in Spain and the University of Salerno in Italy. Students can also spend part of their third year at the Šiauliai University of Applied Sciences in Lithuania, with required mobility to up to two other European institutions.

The degree has been accredited by Cyprus’s Quality Assurance and Accreditation Agency (DIPEA) and recognised by the quality‑assurance bodies of the partner countries, ensuring high academic standards and international recognition. It is scheduled to begin in the winter semester of the 2026‑2027 academic year. Rector Prof. Filippos Pougias highlighted the programme’s benefits, noting that graduates will be prepared for careers in international organisations, public‑health agencies, NGOs, policy‑making bodies, health‑sector businesses, research centres and further graduate study.
