University of Cyprus to provide 100 dormitory rooms for students

The University of Cyprus will provide approximately 100 dormitory rooms to incoming students based on socio-economic criteria. Kleanthi Pissarides, Head of the Student Affairs and Welfare Service, noted that while demand for housing is high, the university is working to address the shortage through discussions with the Ministry of Finance regarding the construction of new dormitories.

If the construction process begins immediately, the first phase of the new housing facilities is expected to take at least two years to complete.

In addition to housing, the university’s Student Welfare Body provides financial assistance to students in need. The process for distributing these funds is scheduled to begin in October, with the goal of providing support before Christmas.
