University of Łódź hosts ‘ZWROT’ exhibition on chronic illness
The exhibition ‘ZWROT – o doświadczeniu choroby, empatii i wsparciu’ (Turn – about the experience of illness, empathy and support) is opening at the University of Łódź’s Galeria Wozownia 1/5 on October 16. The project uses art and personal stories to explore the impact of chronic illness on life, addressing themes of shame, exclusion, and the need for empathetic support systems.
The exhibition features various artistic mediums, including photography, design objects, and literary stories. Notable contributors include Professor Dorota Salska, who presents lingerie designs specifically for women living with stomas or following mastectomies, and Bartosz Kałużny, whose photographic series ‘Gesty’ (Gestures) uses metaphorical imagery inspired by the experiences of the University of Łódź community.
As part of the ‘Human in Danger’ Media Festival, the event aligns with social awareness campaigns such as Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Men’s Cancer Awareness Month. The exhibition will remain open until November 17 and will include discussion meetings focused on navigating health crises in both personal and professional life.
