University of Dayton soccer faces season opening losses

The University of Dayton men’s soccer team opened their 2026 season with a 3-0 loss against the 12th-ranked Akron Zips at FirstEnergy Field. Despite three shots from freshman Uri Koffi, the Flyers fell to an Akron squad that entered the match with a 1-0-0 record.

In women’s soccer, the Kentucky Wildcats secured a dominant 5-0 shutout victory against the Dayton Flyers. Kentucky freshman Kyla Dawn scored twice, while Sydney Arendarczyk, Juliette Rayo, and Kendall Campbell also contributed goals. Kentucky moves to a 3-0-0 record following the win and is scheduled to face Ohio State next.
