University of Delaware women's golf reaches historic rankings

The University of Delaware women's golf team has achieved its highest rankings in program history. According to the first national rankings of the season by Scoreboard, the team is ranked No. 73 among all 289 Division I programs. The Blue Hens are currently the highest-ranked women's golf team in Conference USA and the only program in that conference to appear in the top 100.

Sophomore Rhianna Gooneratne earned the highest individual ranking in the program's history, placing No. 77 among all Division I women's golf players. Gooneratne is the highest-ranked individual in Conference USA and the only player in the conference within the top 150. She recently became the first Blue Hen to win back-to-back individual titles, securing victories at the Mary Fossum Invitational and the Marilynn Smith Sunflower Invitational.
