University of Derby Greece to Open in Athens in 2026

The University of Derby Greece, a non‑profit, non‑state legal entity, will launch in central Athens as the first British university campus in the country. The institution will begin operations with three academic schools and six departments, offering programmes that start in October 2026.

The university aims to provide a genuine British higher‑education experience, emphasizing applied learning, innovation, technology and strong links to the needs of Greek society. It draws on the reputation of its UK parent, the University of Derby, which has been ranked No 1 among British universities in the Uni Compare Rankings 2027 and holds a TEF Gold award for teaching excellence.
